Apple on Sunday night announced that the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus would be available in India from October 17. However, it said that consumers would be able to preorder the device from October 7.
While the company did not announce the price, a report by NDTV said that the iPhone 6 would cost Rs 53,500 for the 16GB model while the iPhone 6 Plus would carry a price tag of Rs 62,500. The report cited emails that iPhone distributors sent to prospective buyers. Apple had not confirmed the prices officially but a few people who were aware of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus India prices confirmed to Indiatoday.in that report was correct.
In its note to press Apple said, "iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, will be available in India beginning Friday, October 17 from an expansive network of Apple authorized resellers. Customers can preorder iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus beginning Tuesday, October 7. Pricing details will be soon made available by AppleĆ¢??s partners: Ingram Micro, Redington, Rashi Peripherals and Reliance."
